Memorandum re Best Terms Obtainable for

Recruiting Singkehs.

1.

Age about 22.

2. Health and physique to be satisfactory.

3. Terms of service with the Mines not to be less than 2 years.

4. Cost of passage to and from Sarawak payable by the Govern-

ment.

5. No deduction to be made from coolies' wages on account of

recruiting fee.

6. Labour Agent to be responsible for delivering all Singkehs

f.o.b. Sarawak steamer, Singapore.

7. Full recruiting fee payable on the embarkation of coblies

at Singapore.

8. Coolies to be passed by the Doctor here and the Government

to have no power of rejection thereafter.

9. Nature of work coal mining, below ground.

10. Wages 45 cents per day.

11. First set of tools, clothes, living quarters and hospital

treatment supplied free by Government.

12. Singkheh to feed and cloths himself out of wages earned

which are payable monthly.

13. Singkheh at liberty to apply for re-engagement or

repatriation on completion of this term of service.
